Thought of the Week

Knowledge will give you power but character respect

15th May 2017

Dear Parent,

This morning we looked into the ‘Random Acts of Kindness Jar’ that Batman left last Monday. It was lovely to see so many thoughtful comments from both children and staff about nice things that happened last week. It just showed the children how all the little things they do do get noticed and how we can all help each other. As Batman got stuck in traffic this morning he has sent a special video message which we will show the children and upload onto the website.

Sports Day – Lower School

Despite the weather we were able to finish the Lower School Sports Day and, while it was a little wet, the children thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you to all those parents who stuck it out.

I would also like to thank those parents who quickly put gazebos up to keep the children dry in between races as it made a huge difference.

Mr Collier, our official photographer, took lots of photographs which we will sort through and showcase on the school Facebook page. Thank you to Mr Collier for giving up his time to support us!

Sports Day – Upper School

As the weather got progressively worse on Friday we had no option but to postpone the event. We are hoping to have our Upper School Sports Day on the afternoon of Thursday 18th May.

Upper School Cloakrooms

Parents and visitors are not allowed into the changing / toilet areas in between Form 3 & 6, and Form 4 & 5. This is a safeguarding concern and only staff are allowed in.

We have put signs up on the doors of these areas and you will be politely asked to leave the area if you do go in.

Holiday Club

The forms for the May half term Sports and Holiday Club have been distributed. If you wish to book places please do so as soon as possible.

National Sandwich Week

Pupils are very excited that the school menu has been changed this week to celebrate National Sandwich Week. We are being treated to some great fillings and I hope the children enjoy their lunches.

Let’s hope the weather improves for Thursday!

Kind regards,

Mrs Follett
