Thought of the Week

All good things in life take a little bit of time and effort.

8th May 2017

Dear Parents,

This week we have a focus on children’s mental health and well-being. We had a great assembly this afternoon where there was a talk about what mental health is and five ways to achieve mental well-being. Batman gave the school a special jar and challenged the children to fill it with ‘random acts of kindness’. This will meet some of the five ways to achieve mental well-being. Members of the Branwood community are being encouraged to carry out ‘random acts of kindness’ all week and the recipient of the kindness then writes on a slip of paper what happened and who was kind and pops it into the jar.

On Monday 22nd May Batman will return to school and read out some of the slips of paper and give out random prizes to the people who carried out the random acts of kindness.

On Friday 12th May we will all take part in Sports Day and look at how coming together as a community and being positive, regardless of the outcome, can help children in their social skills and positive mental attitude.

Sip, Shop and Sparkle

The hall was a hive of activity on Friday afternoon with the organisation and preparation of the ladies evening by members of the PTA. The effort was well worth it as the hall and dining room looked amazing and everyone had a great time! It was a great atmosphere with everyone showing a true Branwood community spirit.

It was nice to see the Branwood mums (past & present), and friends, at a social event and getting some well earnt ‘me’ time!

I would like to thank everyone involved in the organisation as a lot of time and effort was put into ensuring everything was just right! Well done to our PTA, particularly Mr & Mrs McLoughlin and Mr & Mrs Ryles-Dean!
