I love the variety that working with children provides. Watching their personalities, capabilities and confidence develop is a highly rewarding part of the job.
What’s the best part of your job?
The best part of teaching is seeing how pleased the children are when they have achieved something they have worked hard for, whether it is gaining an award or just understanding that tricky maths question.
If you weren’t a teacher, what would you be doing now?
I honestly couldn’t think of anything I would rather be doing… unless I were to win the lottery!
What’s your most memorable moment as a teacher?
The most memorable part of my career so far is the goodbye I received from my first class at Branwood. Parents came in to present me with a gift to remind me of my first year. I was so overwhelmed I cried! I still have it proudly presented at home.
How would you like to be remembered by your pupils?
I’d like the children to remember me as someone who cared and someone who wanted to see them doing well and being happy.
What surprises you about Branwood?
Every day is a surprise – you never know what might happen. At first, I was surprised by how supportive everyone is at all times, and how much of a close knit community we have as a school.
What makes you proud of Branwood?
I am proud of how caring Branwood is as a school. For all of our achievements, first and foremost we care about each and every pupil as an individual.
If you had one word to sum up life at Branwood, what would it be?
