Mrs Headd

Kindergarten One Teacher

T. Cert.

What led you to be a teacher?

When I attended school it wasn’t particularly fun or enjoyable. I wanted other children to have a better experience and for them to feel that school was fun and inviting, like visiting Grandma.

What’s the best part of your job?

The best part of my job is experiencing the growth in confidence and ability of the children as they travel through their learning journey.

If you weren’t a teacher, what would you be doing now?

I think I might have become a nurse, although I did turn down a job as a flight attendant when air travel was very glamourous.

What’s your most memorable moment as a teacher?

Being recognised by a pupil I taught twenty five years previously and being enthusiastically introduced to her family as ‘my first teacher’.

How would you like to be remembered by your pupils?

As a fun, kind and fair teacher.

What surprises you about Branwood?

The wonderful support from parents and colleagues.

What makes you proud of Branwood?

Our children, who are always a delight to educate, and the wonderful feeling of family and sense of belonging.

If you had one word to sum up life at Branwood, what would it be?

Enabling.
