Mrs Relph

Form Two Teaching Assistant

NVQ Level Three

What led you to be a teaching assistant?

Having two young children myself, I wanted a job to fit around my own family and my children’s holidays.

What’s the best part of your job?

The best part of my job is really getting to know the lovely children. I love working 1 on 1 with children and watching them learn and grow.

If you weren’t a teaching assistant, what would you be doing now?

Well, I love dogs and I’m a creative person. I qualified as a dog groomer so I would probably be working in a poodle parlour. Never work with animals or kids? – I love both!

What’s your most memorable moment as a teaching assistant?

I have lots of fun memories here at Branwood. My favourite was on a trip to Knowsley Safari Park. We were in the bat enclosure and watched a tiny bat take it first flight, leaving its mum for the first time. The children and I were just mesmerised. It was magical.

How would you like to be remembered by your pupils?

I would like to be remembered as warm and fun. I like to think that I’ve always got a smile, because being around our children always make me smile!

What surprises you about Branwood?

I never underestimate the children!

What makes you proud of Branwood?

The children at Branwood are always so well behaved. On school outings or when we have guests, the children are always impeccable.

If you had one word to sum up life at Branwood, what would it be?

Emotional.
