Open Days

Our annual Open Days were held in November, however we will be holding a specific EYFS Taster Day on 13th March 2019 and more details about this will be updated here in due course.

You are of course welcome to come and visit us during a normal school day anytime – we are always happy to show people around. Please contact us to let us know when you would like to come.

All our admission literature can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.

Our Admission Policy

Entry may be considered at any appropriate age and application should be made to the bursar in the first instance. An appointment can be made for the parents of prospective pupils to visit the school, talk with the headmaster, discuss their children’s educational needs and objectives, ask any questions they may have and register their child for entry.

Early registration for entry at age three is essential as there is a heavy demand for places at this stage. Academic ability and potential are the criteria for later entry and an assessment appropriate to the age of the potential entrant is made on application. A regularly revised and updated waiting list is maintained to facilitate entry for suitable pupils for whom a place is not immediately available.

The programme for Early Years and Foundation Stage (EYFS) of a child’s initial schooling is an area which has recently, and still is, receiving a great deal of consideration and research. Parents of children in this age group should feel free to ask staff concerned about developments and current thinking in this important sector of educational grounding.

Full details of all necessary information for new parents and pupils is circulated in good time before a child starts in Branwood School. Handbooks are also available for download from the Handbooks page. The parents of all entrants to the first kindergarten class are invited, with their children, to an open afternoon in the summer prior to their child’s September entry, in order to meet staff, other parents and children and familiarise their son or daughter with the school environment. There are form packs available and meetings are held for parents of all children throughout the school prior to starting a new academic year.

Terms & Conditions of Registration

When registering a child (or ward) as a pupil at Branwood Preparatory School, parents (or guardians) undertake to comply with the rules and regulations at the School. These include, but are not limited to, the following points:

  • Parents (or guardians) agree to pay a deposit of £200 on registration. Parents (or guardians) understand that the deposit will be deducted from the fee for their child’s (or ward’s) first term at Branwood.
  • Parents (or guardians) undertake and agree to pay each term’s fee in advance.
  • Parents (or guardians) agree to give one full term’s notice in writing to the School’s Bursar on or before the first day of the term at the end of which the child (or ward) will leave the School. Parents (or guardians) agree, if in default of providing notice as stipulated, to pay one term’s fee in lieu of notice.
  • Parents (or guardians) understand that the ‘Registration Form and Contract’ must be completed in order to register their child (or ward) at the School, and that this document forms a legally binding contract with the School.
