What led you to be a teacher?
A love of English which I studied at university. My aunt was also a teacher and was a big influence on my career choice.
What’s the best part of your job?
How rewarding it is to have an impact on a child’s learning and how lovely, polite and cheerful all of the children are.
If you weren’t a teacher, what would you be doing now?
If I had a different job, I think I’d be a journalist. If not, I’d be shopping, cooking or riding my horse!
What’s your most memorable moment as a teacher?
There are so many! The funniest was when I managed to splatter yellow marbling ink all over my face – the children found it hilarious! I also remember feeling proud of our children when they won the Worsley Netball League.
How would you like to be remembered by your pupils?
An excellent teacher who was kind, positive and really inspired them to learn and who made learning fun.
What surprises you about Branwood?
When I have to get dressed up as a wolf, a cat, a Mr Man; wearing silly outfits whilst being sat at my desk working as if everything is normal!
What makes you proud of Branwood?
How lovely, friendly and happy the children are and how respectful and hardworking everyone is – there is always a lovely positive atmosphere around school.
If you had one word to sum up life at Branwood, what would it be?
Rewarding.
