This week in KG 1 the children have been thinking about two very different festivals.

The Festival of Diwali takes place this weekend. It is a Festival of light and is celebrated by Hindus and Sikhs across the world. The children enjoyed making Diwali lamps with clay, listening to Diwali stories and making Diwali cards. In KG1 our very own Mrs Jeykishnan celebrates Diwali and she brought in some cakes and chocolates for the staff and children to enjoy, thank you Mrs Jeykishnan.

This week the children also learnt about the importance of remembrance during the month of November. We talked about how important it is to remember those we have loved and lost. The children have made poppies to place on our remembrance tree and have begun some super poppy paintings linked to the art work of Claude Monet.

The children have also been very kind friends to our new class member Giorgio, welcoming him to our Branwood family.
