Artists at Work

Form 1 continue to amaze me with their excellent attitude to learning, kindness and outstanding manners. I’ve received many compliments from staff about their manners and behaviour!

As artists, they studied primary colours and experimented with colour mixing.

In geography, they visited China and familiarised themselves with Chinese culture. Pupils enjoyed trying to write in Chinese and everybody aced the pop quiz! They are becoming quite confident with naming and locating continents and thoroughly enjoy using Google Earth to explore the world.

We took our science lessons outdoors this week and went on a sensory walk around the grounds. We discussed the various things we saw, heard, smelt and felt. This prompted many questions and conversations.

In maths, pupils are becoming faster and have improved their accuracy when adding together two numbers, thanks to the Daily 10 challenge.

Next week in maths we will be counting backwards from different starting points and in English we will start our new topic, poetry.
